Some Pointers to Make your Auction Experience more Comfortable

It is quite tough to locate a car auction which is free for anyone to attend. If you do find one like that, you can expect lot of people swarming these auctions that makes it very difficult for you to get the car of your choice. People at these auctions will be assertive and will jostle with one another for space and will just take away your spot given the slightest of chances.

Car auctions that is free for anyone is usually an affair that goes on through the day with many cars being auctioned off one after the other. If you want to land a very good deal, you should be very patient and have good timing and be able to assess a good opportunity when it comes your way. You need to be at ease yet alert to be able to get the deal that you and everyone else will wish for.

Be Present on the Dot, Continue to Stay for Long

There will be too many cars at an auction open to all, so it does not make sense to go very early to have a good look at the cars at the auction. What you have to look for is to obtain a list of all cars that are going to be auctioned off. But, you might not be able to recollect about each and every one of them that is listed out there. Mark the ones that you are interested in but be prepared to have other people vying for the ones you are watching out for. The best way to then go about it is to keep your eyes and ears open.

Be on the venue of the auction, a little ahead of time instead of landing there after it begins. By reaching a little early, you will have plenty of time to get there and finish all the formalities and find the right spot for yourself at the front. This is very important as you need to be close to the car to give it a proper look when the driver brings the car around. But, be prepared to remain there for a long time so that you can have a look at all the cars that come by.

You need to bear in mind a few other factors to make your experience at the auction comfortable. If the weather is cold, wear something that will keep you warm. Even if the auction is being held in a building, the interiors may not be very warm. If the weather is hot, wear something that will keep you cool. If it is warm weather, it is more likely to be warmer inside the building.

You can also carry a backpack carrying some food to eat and lots to drink. You might sometimes find food carts at the auction house although this is not the case at every auction you might visit. Even if there are food carts, it is highly likely that you might end up losing your spot if you leave in between to check out what is available. Carrying your own food and drinks will prevent such a situation from occurring.

Another thing to remember is that not all auction places will seat the visitors to the auction. If you have trouble standing in one place for long hours at a stretch, it is best you remember to carry a foldable chair. But, this might be a problem if somebody standing ahead of you begins to block your view. It is also likely that you might not be spotted by the auctioneer or his helper when you are trying to bid for a particular vehicle. In such a case, it is best to stand up when you see something that interests you. Also, you can look at some place where it is possible to sit and yet have a good view of all the cars that is passing by.

If you get to purchase any car in the auction, you must remember that there will be a huge queue to finish the transactions and the paperwork which might take some time to clear out. Here, your folding chair will again come to good use. If you remember to get the legal plates done beforehand you can carry it with you to the auction and save some more time. Also, if you make arrangements to have some friend or acquaintance with you, you can get them to drive the new car back home while you take the car in which you drove to the auction.
